This study was to investigate the impact of nutrition intervention and dietary counseling to response time of service competencies and hospitality of health care professional, the means and infrastructure, nutrition information by dietitian and collaborative health education at hemodialysis unit Sardjito Hospital. Total of 85 adult men and women hemodialysis patients aged 19-60 years old with predominantly diabetics and hypertension causes of renal disease were given nutrition intervention during a period of 3 weeks. We defined patient satisfaction according to response time of service at hemodialysis unit, competencies and hospitality of health care professional, the means and infrastructure, nutrition information by dietitian and collaborative health education were recorded before and after 3 weeks intervention. Data analysis to assess the effect of the nutrition intervention and dietary counseling to patient satisfaction used Mc Nemar analysis. Before the nutrition intervention and dietary counseling it was found that 66%, 56%, 55%, 62%, 56% and 55% respondent said that response time of service at hemodialysis unit, competencies and hospitality of health care professional, the means and infrastructure, nutrition information by dietitian and collaborative health education satisfied the hemodialysis patients. After the 3 weeks intervention all of patient satisfaction indicators increase significantly to 85%, 84%, 87%, 85%, 86% and 85% respectively (p<0.001). Nutrition intervention and dietary counseling were statistically significant in increasing patient satisfaction in hemodialysis unit Dr Sardjito Hospital.
