This study aimed to analyze whether there is a correlation between BMI and MIS   The research method used a cross sectional study involving 116 outpatient dialysis patients at General Hospital dr. Hasan Sadikin Bandung  from November 2019-February 2020. BMI data were obtained from anthropometric calculations of patients, and MIS data were collected from patient medical records. Data was statistically analyzed using pearson correlation From  116 patients there were 76 (65.5%) patients who were categorized as malnourished (eg ≥6). In this study, subjects were mostly women  (n = 64) with an average age of 48 years and average BMI 22.17 ± 4.3 kg / m2. BMI was statistically correlated with core with MIS (r - 0.284; p = 0.002) Patients with low BMI tend to have higher MIS scores.  The increased MIS score indicates the risk of poor outcome and increases the risk of death in hemodialysis patients
