Measure the comparison between risk factors in patients with heart failure with ejection fraction <40% (HFrEF) and heart failure with ejection fraction ≥ 40%(HFmEF-HFpEF) This was a nested case-control study using secondary data from the medical record of National Cardiovascular Center Harapan Kita, Jakarta, Indonesia 2016-2018. The Heart Failure was diagnosed with the cardiologist and confirmed with Echocardiography. Heart Failure-rEF was defined EF <40% and Heart Failure-pEF and Heart Failure-mEF was defined ≥40%. The risk factors were defined systematically. The data of 722 subjects consisted of 514 patients with HFrEF and 208 patients with HFpEF and HFmEF. Female patients, hypertension, atrial fibrillation, valvular disease were more common in heart failure with EF≥ 40% HFmEF-HFpEF). Male patients (OR: 1.613 95%CI: 1.446-1.799, p: 0.001), Ischemic Heart Disease (OR :1.498 95%CI:1.372-1.636, p: 0.001), Smoking (OR :1.300 95%CI:1.209-1.398 p: 0.001), Diabetes mellitus (OR:1.150 95%CI: 1.073-1.233, p:0.001) and Chronic Kidney Disease (OR:1.192, 95%CI:1.111-1.279, p:0.001) were significantly associated with HFrEF . Chronic Kidney Disease, Male patients, IHD, Diabetes Mellitus, and Smoking were risk factors that significantly had an effect on heart failure with ejection fraction <40% (HFrEf).
