The APSN Clinical Practice Guideline on Diabetic Kidney Disease and KDIGO Clinical Practice Guidelines for Diabetes Management in Chronic Kidney Disease were both released in 2020. However, there are certain areas in which the recommendations of the two guidelines differ. This talk will compare recommendations and discuss the rationale for the differences between the two guidelines. These differences are mainly driven by the need to take into consideration healthcare infrastructures, disease patterns and resources that vary widely within the Asian Pacific region, so that we can have regional guidelines that are applicable and implementable.
