The prevalence of peritoneal dialysis is shrunk up to 4% of the end-stage renal disease population in Korea. One of the various factors which are related to these situations may be the lack of sharing information between patients and doctors. Korean Society of Nephrology started action about shared decision-making on renal replacement therapy in 2018. Currently, a randomized controlled trial is performing as Shared Decision Making for Choosing renAl Replacement Therapy in Chronic Kidney Disease Patients trial (SDM-ART) in 19 Korean hospitals supported by KSN and NECA. This lecture will introduce the general concept and program of SDM, progression of SDM-ART trial, and challenge campaign of Happy Together.
