This lecture will cover the background of the current state of kidney care in the USA, a breif summary of the history of CKD policy in the US, new and exciting inititives for kidney care policy from the cetnral government (AAKH). The role of the ASN in the kidney care community will also be reviewed along with a review of the potential future of kidney care in the USA.
