Objectives: Engeletin is an active phytochemical and primary ingredient of the dry rhizome of Smilax china. Engeletin has anti-pulmonary fibrosis activity in the medicine and has been well known in the medicine for their effectiveness against various forms of human disorders including rheumatic arthritis, acute surgical infection, and cancerous disorders.  Methods: To know the biological effectiveness of engeletin in the medicine, here in the present work numerous scientific literature data has been collected and analyzed. Medicinal importance of engeletin has been investigated through literature data analysis. Biological effect of engeletin on lung cancer has been investigated through scientific data analysis of various literature works in the present study. Results: Literature data analysis revealed the biological potential of engeletin in the medicine. Biological effect of engeletin on lung cancer has been investigated through scientific data analysis of various literature works and revealed the therapeutic potential in the medicine as it significantly induced apoptotic cell death in lung cancer cells. Other pharmacological activities also signified the biological potential of engeletin in the medicine.  Conclusions: Literature data analysis of various scientific research works revealed the biological effect of engeletin on lung cancer.
