Translational research is actively being conducted to understand pathophysiology of various human diseases and to develop effective treatment for patients. Recently, many biomedical researchers directly investigate human patients without relying on animal models. In this lecture, I will discuss new trends in the study of human diseases. In particular, I will describe recent trends in investigation of human patients and related biomedical techniques.
