Objectives: In this study, we compared the nutritional status, dialysis efficiency, dialysis weight change, and hospitalization period, etc. between single-person households receiving hemodialysis and non-single person households receiving hemodialysis. Methods: Single center 75 dialysis patients were divided into two groups: 30 patients with one person households hemodialysis patients and 45 patients with non-one person households hemodialysis patients. Results: Psychiatric drug use in the single-person household patient group was 7 patients, which was 23.3%, compared to 11.1%, compared to 5 patients in the two or more household patient group. But the p-value was 0.095, which was not statistically significant. The duration of hospitalization was also longer in the single-person household patient group at 55.03 ± 89.28 days than in the two or more household patient group at 37.73 ± 57.15 days. However, the P-value was 0.309, showing no difference between the two groups. The weight gain between dialysis was 2.24 ± 1.07kg in the patient group of two or more households, which increased more than that of 2.16 ± 0.98kg in the single-person household patient group. The number of drugs taken was 9.23 ± 2.67 in the single-person household patient group, compared to 2.24 ± 1.07 in the two or more household patient group, but this was also not statistically significant. nPCR also showed no difference between the two groups. However, in the case of KT/v, 1.58 ± 0.17 in the single-person household patient group showed an increased finding compared to 1.48 ± 0.16 in the two or more household patient group. Conclusions: In the hemodialysis patients, one person households were more likely to have poor nutritional status, longer hospital stay, and sleep disturbances than those who had more than non-one person households. These results suggest that more active interventions are needed for patients with hemodialysis in one person households.
