More than 200 monogenic or chromosomal structural abnormalities have been known as underlying kidney diseases. Especially genetic diagnostic rate is higher in pediatric or young adult patients with kidney disease than in old adult patients. However, as the diagnostic technologies develop rapidly, its utility is increasing both in pediatric and adult patients with kidney disease. In this talk, updates on the clinical application of genome testing in kidney disease will be presented with our experience in Korean patients.
