Chronic kidney disease is a global public health problem. Early detection is a key strategy to prevent kidney disease, its progression and related complications, and increasing knowledge and implementing sustainable solutions for early detection of kidney disease are public health priorities. Since 1960, the ISN has promoted and worked toward a future where all people have equitable access to sustainable kidney health. In the realm of research, the efforts by the ISN have borne fruit with the organization of the 2023 ISN-GKHA data into region-specific summaries, paving the way for targeted interventions tailored to diverse global challenges. The TRANSFORM initiative, heralded by the publication of consensus guidance in Kidney International, stands as a testament to our collective resolve to push the boundaries of translational nephrology. These and many other research initiatives, including scientific papers, webinars, and new ISN Toolkits in collaboration with the WHO on AKI, Dialysis and renal registries, are a testament to the ISN's dedication to research-driven innovation and advocacy. Advance in understanding of the pathogenesis of kidney disease and improvement of situations to encourage clinical trials has led to approval of new drugs to improve prognosis of patients with kidney disease. We live in an exciting moment when care of patients with kidney disease is changing dramatically.
